Programs

Our Programs are delivered with respect, patience, care and most importantly good humour.

Keeping in Touch Program

Living regionally can sometimes make it difficult to stay connected with family and friends, access things we might need, or even attend necessary appointments that keep us well and healthy. Keeping these things in mind our Keeping in Touch Program offers:

  • Free iPad loan for 3 months to older community members who are socially isolated
  • One-on-one support and guidance on how to use the iPad to connect with friends and family, access on-line services and/or goods
  • Support for those who do not have current internet services

Home-based Technology Mentoring Program

We appreciate that some people may require extra support to navigate their mobile phone, iPad, computers, TV and/or other devices. Our Home-based technology mentoring program aims to simplify the world of home based technology by:

  • Providing a free one-on-one session to understand and develop a tailored learning program to meet the needs of the participant
  • Providing access to free on-line courses that can be undertaken at the participant’s own leisure
  • Providing extended mentoring sessions based on an hourly fee

On-line Connections

We run a number of facilitated experiences via the popular Zoom video chatting software.

Our New York New York meetings run monthly linking local community members with people living in New York. The cultural exchange and overall experience is well received by all participants.

We have recently introduced our Virtual Twiddle Farm tours which are run on demand. Our farm, located in the green rolling hills of Arawata has over 30 animals ranging from Alpacas to goats to chickens, Jersey boys (Steers) a barn cat (when she’s in residence) and 13 very likeable sheep.

We also have a 50 tree orchard for the gardening enthusiasts to virtually tour. The virtual tour of the farm is interactive and participants are encouraged to ask questions about our animals and orchard and to provide recollections of their experiences in similar settings.
